Gardening Products Sourcing on the Fair
This is a trip for helping an American source gardening products at the Canton Fair.
As a private translator, I provide oral translation throughout the process, and help customers negotiate prices, record order details, and communicate with suppliers.
It is the American buyer’s first time in China. He doesn’t know anything about Guangzhou and is feeling a little nervous about everything.
We’ve been communicating online, and he confirmed all his trip details with me. He also tried sending a small payment of $0.01 through PayPal to verify my account.
Kinds of Gardening Products
The Canton Fair’s second phase was mostly for gardening products. We browsed the whole area, checking out products booth by booth and asking about prices and details whenever something caught our eye.
In the gardening products, gardening tool sets are a must-have for any serious gardener here in the States. Lately, there’s been a big trend towards shining sets. Using a high-quality, brightly tool set to tackle weeds, clear fallen leaves, or plant some new flowers can be a surprisingly relaxing experience, good for both body and mind.
Some children also like to plant their favorite plants or flowers in their own yards. Therefore, gardening tools with cartoon patterns are also very popular.
Gardening seeds and related tools and accessories are also popular. So customers also need a variety of popular seeds, plant fertilizers and culture vessels. However, we found several suppliers of seeds and accessories, and the prices were very high.
The flowers and plants in the yard need to be watered frequently, and the lawn needs to be constantly maintained and cared for.
This demand has always been high. We have found several different sprinkler shell factories. The prices of good quality are also high, and the prices of suitable ones are usually not satisfactory.
This kind of iron wire is often used in the garden and is also a product that customers urgently need because the peak season is coming soon and customers are still out of stock.
However, there are too few professional suppliers of this product, and after finally finding one, they are still hesitant because of the price.
The customer found some pretty good options at the Canton Fair this time. They were able to connect with suppliers for most of the stuff they urgently need, and the prices seem flexible. Once back home, they’ll finalize the orders one by one.
