Personal Driver Help Hotel Furniture Factory Visit
Once, a client from Africa needed to visit a hotel furniture company located in Foshan. He contacted the company himself through the well-known B2B platform and obtained their address. However, this company was located more than 50 kilometers away from Guangzhou and there were no trains or buses that could directly reach it. Most taxi drivers did not speak English and could not communicate with him.
At that time, he decided to hire me as his personal driver because I have my own high-end luxury seven-seater business car and I can speak English, which allows me to serve as his free business translator.
We agreed to meet at the airport, where I will pick him up and drive him to his booked hotel for some rest. The next morning, I will meet him downstairs at the hotel and take him directly to the furniture company located in Foshan. Along the way, I shared with him some interesting information about Foshan’s culture.
After arriving at the hotel furniture company, the seller of the company took the client and me on a tour of their factory and sample showroom, which gave the client an important understanding of the production process and materials used.
During subsequent business negotiations, there was some difficulty in communication between the client and the company’s salesperson because his English was not very good. He needed my help to translate. I did my best to translate every sentence and request from the customer, as well as help clarify every detail for the factory’s salesperson. I also ensured that customers received preferential furniture prices and confirmed samples. The customer expressed great satisfaction with the product quality from this factory.
